Wouldn’t quinine (tonic water) do the same thing? Had a friends who spent years in Africa who treated a relapse of malaria with quinine, while staying with us.

Well, supposedly there is not enough of the active ingredient in tonic water to be effective. Still, I will have a gin and tonic or vodka and tonic just for fun.

Quinine and chloroquine are two different things.

I was just going to ask that.

It was what they gave the boys in the south pacific during WW2

My uncle said it turned his skin yellow and they all had the trots after though.

What them fellows went through...
