In 1938, Orson Welles was the star of a sci fi radio program, so realistically performed, almost all of America (those with radios in 1938) were convinced we had been attacked by Martians)

Grab a glass of whatever and sit quietly for about an hour ..... THEN listen/watch the story behind the radio broadcast.

True American history.

Hell, from the turn of the century through the 40s, folks around the world were falling for communism, anarchy, Nazism, fascism, etc. Why not Martians?

Heck, they are falling for all that crap now! A lot of folks haven’t learned anything!

Had they done some channel surfing and turned the dial to hear what other stations were saying, they would have heard Tutti Frutti, Flat Foot Floogie, A-Tisket A-Tasket, or Kangaroo Blues and realized that everything was normal.
