Understand, and the Imperial College modeling has definitely informed U.S. and European decisions. However in the nomenclature of refined academia, conclusions from Taleb, et al’s response are damming. Statements like:

“However, they make structural mistakes ...”
“Their assumptions are equivalent to ergodicity . ..”
“The model they use . . . is therefore not well suited for incorporating real world conditions at fine or large scale.”
“Focusing on details but using incorrect assumptions makes for bad policy advice. Where lives are at stake, it is essential for science to adhere to higher standards.”

In gunfighting terms, the Imperial College team has been called out.

Hopefully the critics can build a better mousetrap—and then convince world leaders to use it.

That is above my pay grade for sure!
