Knowing that half the people in the world have an IQ below 98, I think it’s important to be aware of the different psychological impacts each of the scenarios could have.

Make it. There’s a great argument to be made that we should just take the hit. Like an asteroid hitting the planet. “Some of you f*ckers are gonna die!” Getting rid of 80 year old parasites is a good thing. It “saves Social Security”. We shouldn’t be bailing anybody out. It’s called “creative destruction”. When the smoke clears and the ashes settle the survivors will experience the “Second Renaissance”.
