Actually many of the deaths (particularly of the under 80 age group) are after several weeks of hospitalization.

I expect death rates to climb significantly for _at least_ a month, regardless of any new actions on the ground.

The ‘it only kills the old people’ numbers are the initial deaths.
It kills the old people FIRST.
The younger ones linger in the ICU for several more weeks before succumbing.
Even if they don’t succumb, it looks like they have 2 or 3 week stays. Million dollar medical bills incoming...
Theres always stragglers in the corners and around the edges but they average out usually.
