Bingo. It's a very tough calculus. Obama apparently opted to come 100% down on the economic side and write off 17,000 lives with H1N1. Trump is coming down 100% on the side of human life, supremely confident that the economy will rebound.

He may be right or wrong about that, but his respect for human life is something I must admire in him.

I agree with what you are saying but I think it is very bad to assume that lockdowns, quarantines, etc. demonstrate a respect for life more than someone who puts the economy first.
