Melanin is an antioxidant. It fights the aging process and can help ward off some diseases as well. White people, lacking the melanin, are born with higher levels of the antioxidant superoxide dismutase (sod) to perform a similar function. Levels vary with genetics, but white people generally have a lot higher sod levels than black people. The problem is that melanin levels generally remain constant, while SOD levels drop with age. This is why black people tend to show fewer physical signs of aging than white people.

This makes me wonder what effect exogenous SOD might have on the coronavirus. I might have to up my supplementation. I already suspected this, but based on research I had read, went with higher glutathione supplementation instead. I guess there’s no reason not to do both.

Melanin is an antioxidant but melatonin is a better one.

And dark-complexioned people have fewer ACE2 receptors on the lungs and other organs to host the virions.
