Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker will order all Illinois bars and restaurants to close their dine-in operations at the end of the business day on Monday.
We are working with restaurant owners and food delivery services across the state to see if restaurants can safely keep their kitchens open, so the restaurants can continue food delivery to people at their homes, Pritzker said at a news conference Sunday at the Thompson Center in the Loop.
The time for persuasion and public appeals is over. The time for action is here. This is not a joke. No one is immune to this, and you have an obligation to act in the best interests of all the people of this state.
Pritzker also urged people not to hoard food.
Earlier Sunday, Pritzker had said on NBCs Meet the Press that he had been considering such a step.

Ol’ Pritzker just doesn’t want to catch it from some “flu bro.” I’ve seen how big he is. He won’t likely fare well.
“See how easy it is for Big.Gov to manipulate the masses? (snip) All I can say is be prepared. Guns, ammo, food, water, ...”
Were you manipulated into stocking up on those items?
I do not understand but for me is normal
So few?

I’ve been reading other posts that are reporting other mayors and governors ( a lot of them dems and rinos) putting in these draconian restrictions. It seems to me that now they are just testing the waters. They want to see how far they can demand city and state populations to do whatever they want you to do. And what about all these businesses that they are basically shutting down on absolutely no notice. Ya, we keep trading in our freedoms for “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”. I know a lot of Freepers agree with this and that’s fine...your opinion.
Nope. I have plenty of all.
I hope the bar owners line up to sue Jelly Belly and keep his fat behind in court for the rest of his term.
Lets screw small business!

Yep. The overreach is beginning. People will not tolerate this.

You give the People WAY too much credit; esp. considering a majority of ‘em voted for Cankles.
The Leftist sheeple are easily led; they’ll bleat approvingly
JB Prickster as we call him here, is a FAT POS. Yesterday he spent 15 of 20 minutes slamming the Trump administration's "inaction" after President Trump's Friday press conference and now he does this.
Prickster is a f'n. fascist. This is what fascists do: put people out of work, starve them then kills them.
This fat ass POS needs to get thrown out of office. Hope he dies soon.
If restaurants are closed, the wholesale food trade has to sell that grub somewhere, right? There’s only so much freezer, refer, and warehouse space to fill up.
I read the Illinois statute on this and believe it or not hes within his authority to do this. Not that I agree with the decision at all.

The only thing missing now is Martial Law. This is why people hoarded. The fear of Martial Law and then they couldnt get out to buy groceries.
I believe this is much bigger than anything weve faced in our collective lifetimes. Two or three weeks of little economic activity will be cheap in comparison if Wuhan is allowed to blossom.
I don’t. If there was “something more” healthy young folks would be dropping like flies. Are they? No.
The economy damage is already done. It is measured in years and not weeks.
“If there was something more healthy young folks would be dropping like flies. Are they? No.”
I hope you are right and my thoughts on this are wrong!
And 24 hour McDonald’s? If I had a restaurant, I’d tell anyone to go to hell...
“See how easy it is for Big.Gov to manipulate the masses?”
The reaction is akin to radio audiences listening to Orson Welles dramatizing “The War of the Worlds” or “The Twilight Zone” program “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” written by Rod Serling.
People should be responsible and take sanitary precautions, but the hysteria driven by the Democrats is all out of proportion to the nature of the disease. This is not the Spanish flu pandemic or the Black Death.
Pritzker, however, has refused to postpone the Illinois Primary (March 17, 2020) for political reasons. What a hypocrite!
Now, voters in Chicago and Cook County will have to cast their votes on touch screen voting machines — what a perfect way to spread the virus to voters!
