“I wonder why this concept is so difficult.”
I spent a bunch of time (a while ago) studying the effects of a nuclear attack from the Soviets. Even at its worst, Coronavirus is a walk in the park compared to that. I think these people never studied what nukes could do (particularly the Soviet arsenal) and are just finding out that there are really BAD THINGS that can land in this country...and really can’t deal with it, so they try and try to ‘rationalize’ it all away...and then blame those who can deal with Coronavirus objectively, for all their fear.
I’ve tried explaining that fear to my kids. Maybe now they are getting it.
I grew up about five miles (as the ICBM flies) from a significant SAC base at Westover. Around here, prep for a nuclear attack was practically nothing. We knew we were fried.
This doesn’t come close. But still, slowing this down is the best thing we can hope for. And pretty much the only thing an individual or family can do.
I would hate to have teenagers in my house. Their intent in life is to get negative social distance. LOL.
