Population genetics is key to understanding the susceptibility and the likelihood of serious illness and death in any given pandemic. Unless the race, age and underlying medical conditions of those who become seriously ill or die is revealed, the numbers alone are inadequate to understand this pandemic. For some reason the CDC and the WHO are not revealing this data. Also just why have the Indian subcontinent and sub Sahara Africa been relatively spared. If this disease were running rampant in those places, the lack of diagnostic kits would not hide a catastrophe.

“Also just why have the Indian subcontinent and sub Sahara Africa been relatively spared.”

Because they don’t have adequate HCSs and can’t even properly test. A few hundred, or even a few thousand deaths would not really be noticed, yet. How long did it go under the radar in Iran?
