Correction. Nebraska has 18.
BNO News is usually the most current. Business Insider is way behind.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released their estimates for the influenza season from October 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020. During that period, an estimated 34 to 49 million people have been sickened with the flu, with 350,000 to 620,000 hospitalized.
The estimated deaths from the flu is between 20,000 and 52,000 people.
All over, as in ‘done’?
What I can’t figure out is why Washington State has so many cases..
“Hundreds of times more people have died from the common flu, based on what Ive seen.”
Everybody has been exposed to the flu, many times, every season. We have herd immunity and vaccines.
Nobody has been exposed to this and there is no herd immunity or vaccine.
CV kills at least 10 time as many infected people as the flu.
The whole point of the reaction by governments around the world is to keep the case count low while we develop countermeasures. Like a vaccine.
If this spreads like the flu it will overwhelm our HCS and kill 1 in 15 like in Italy. There will be additional deaths because the HCS won’t be able to handle the heart attacks, crash victims, strokes, common flu, etc., either.
The hysteria comes from all the people that were told “it’s just the flu” who suddenly find themselves unprepared for the social distancing, closures, lockdowns, cancellations, quarantines and so forth that are happening here and now. We’ve been saying for 6 weeks “it might”, and then, “it will” happen, but the complacents thought it was more important to sling insults and spout conspiracy theories.
How many more people will need to die before the complacents admit it isn’t just the flu?
Again, take it for what it is worth. It is one individual in a country of a billion. But I am hearing this from others as well. His exact quote is Zero growth in more than 20 provinces. We are back on track.
A Jewish teenager from the Seattle area has built a website that is keeping the world updated on the COVID-19 pandemic as it spreads. The website, ncov2019.live, has been visited by 12 million people since it launched in late December.
Computer whiz Avi Schiffmann, 17, spends much of his time these days constantly updating and improving the website, which automatically scrapes data from reliable sources from all over the world. The site, which originally updated every 10 minutes, now updates every minute to provide the latest statistics on the number of confirmed cases, serious cases, deaths, and recovered both worldwide and in each country in real time. The site also hosts an interactive Google map, a Twitter feed, travel advisories, information on the disease and its prevention, as well as tips for preparing for quarantine situations.
Yes. Found out 65 yr old had it post mortem.
Patient zero was in Washington. He visited wuhan.
Take out the stats from Washington and the death rate is .0078 in the US. And that number will drop significantly as more people are tested.
all of these numbers are underreported due to the lack of testing. if someone isn’t tested they don’t show up here. the hope is that w/social distancing the numbers will stay low.
18.
stop and think about it....18......under normal circumstances so few wouldn’t be worth a mention.
But now....................in order to spread as much panic as possible............it’s treated as though it was 18,000
Washington State has so many cases because we actually started testing long before the rest of the nation.
It’s that homemade hooch in WV that prevents COVID 19.
Well, yes, we are all going to die. Hopefully not soon and not from Wuhan. I am not pushing any panic buttons. I think I’m being realistic. I believe, based on national leaders from many different nations reaction to this, that Wuhan is a big deal. Obviously, I hope that your reaction is the correct one and that Wuhan is a big nothing burger. We shall see.
