ha ha.
not sure what that says about people, but ha ha.
Just watch for 9 months later when we have a Baby Boom!
9 months from now we’re going to see a massive baby boom. And, in the year 2033 or 2034, those babies will be called the Quaranteens.
Annoyed to see folks take a sh**load of toilet paper and the hell with their neighbor.
I was out shopping this morning. Everything was still available, although there were TP vultures, waiting for two palettes of TP. No one went without. I just did my normal shopping for fresh ingredients. I got TP last week. I’m ok for a month.
I’m visiting my son in Tarzana and went to the market to get a few items and there was no meat and all canned soup and other canned food gone as well. People are crazy. I was actually ashamed for the outright greed and selfishness on display. How are you going to eat all that stuff? I have plenty of food and supplies at home in the mountains. I told my son if things go south to bring his family to my fortress of solitude.
I have plenty of every thing but stocking up is not totally foolish.
You should have already done so tho.
Hot Springs, Arkansas Wal-marts, wiped out, no paper goods, I got the last two packages of hamburger meat, no canned veggies, no frozen veggies, no eggs, luncheon meats or hotdogs, 16oz soft drinks and water, Produce cleaned out...
Krogers all meat gone, veggie can goods, frozen veggies, milk, water 16oz soft drinks, produce....
Dollar General spotty, most are sold out of paper goods and select can goods...
Good. Maybe Americans will start reproducing again.
The future belongs to those who show up.
My wife chatted with a friend in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (zero cases in ID so far). She went to the local Costco and found it full of people from the Spokane, WA area. Like locusts, they are all heading 35 miles east to wipe out the next town over.
Our friend got there at 8 this morning. Normal opening is 9:30 AM on Saturday, but she has a special card that gets her in an hour before normal opening. She was number 250 in line at 8 am!
Get plenty of TP cuz the SHTF.
Just stopped by a Walmart in central PA. Many shelves empty, but paper products were being restocked. Headache remedies, cold remedies, much depleted. Plenty of vitamins, however. Still no baby wipes or clorox wipes. And the parking lot was full of cars. I spoke with several associates and customers (not sure why, but strangers usually talk freely to me). The associates are stressed by difficult customers, and the customers are very unhappy. If the distribution center shuts down they will all get much unhappier.
Associate also mentioned that Walmart will allow paid absence if an associate is quarantined or tests positive. This is a huge relief to part-time employees, which most of them are.
I see this as being a onetime boon for cleaning supplies, paper goods, and shelf stable food supplies. To a lesser degree a one time boon for frozen goods.
It'll be followed by a dip in business as those supplies are used up. But let's face it. Some of that stuff is going to sit in pantry shelves until it's eventually thrown out years from now.
Some of the stuff might get donated to food pantries once the threat has passed.
I think we will all be a little more conscious of the need to keep certain supplies on hand going forward.
I don't know how deep warehouse supplies go, but I think the stores will probably be able to restock in short order.
Two local supermarkets near me are low on paper products but nothing else seems different. Cashiers and customers all seem fairly mellow.
Maybe we need to bring back the ration cards like they had in WWII. This is ridiculous.
Here in South Jersey everything is normal. The Shoprite did have less red meat and chicken while the beans and toilet paper were decimated. We have had 1 diagnosed Coronaite to the best of my knowledge and zero in my Township. Where I used to live (Montgomery County PA) is a hot zone. I would easily think it would be reversed but North Jersey is just full of it typically.
Local WalMarts (Indiana) announce no 24 hour ops.
Open 6am to 11pm.
Lol no one wants condoms.
Another thing I found is that no one wants self rising flour for the Apocalypse.
