**Similar scenes here in the west burbs of Chicago.**
Well, if things somehow turn really bad (nomatter the crisis) and leaving town is a must, this is my favorite west burbs exit (I big trucked in and out of the ‘Windy’ metro for years):
US20 west to Plank Rd (which becomes Peace Rd on the north side of Sycamore), turn right onto west IL64. That will get you out into the wide open country side. If you want to keep going until you are out of Pritzger’s totalitarian state (wife and I left 3 yrs ago), then take IL64 to US52 to Savanah, cross ol Muddy into Iowa.
Very familiar with that route. I’ve driven 64 from 355 all the way to Savanna IL many, many times.
I had a boat at the marina there.
