I was at a Wegmans yesterday and they were sanitizing the carts as they were brought in from the parking lot.

The shelves were barer than usual, with the meat dept nuked. No chicken to be had. One turkey and one turkey breast. I took the turkey.

There was beef and pork but not much.

There was no alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or tp. The paper towels were low, water was pretty much out. Lots of OTC meds were out.

Pasta shelves were stripped bare and spaghetti sauce was about half full. Soups were well picked over.

Flour was gone and there was a little sugar left.

There was lots I didn’t check cause I didn’t need it. Some of it I checked only for kicks.

Exactly the same scenario at the Publix in Fort Lauderdale. No chicken, not a single box of pasta and what was left of the soup was pretty awful. Lots of frozen food.

Had to go by my closest Walmart yesterday for several odds & ends and took a tour to survey the carnage from the morning. Beyond the usual stuff gone there was some that struck me peculiar - the cooking oil was wiped out, mayo & mustard hard hit. Can't wrap my head around that one.

Wegman's is a class outfit. They do things the right way and always put the customer first. Have shopped there since the '60s and I can't recall ever having a serious gripe.
Two of my sons worked there and had Wegman's scholarships. Not a lot of money, but I was paying their college costs out of my pocket and every little bit helped.
