The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Switzerland tops 1,000 as of Friday. There have been ten deaths. The government imposed sweeping measures on Friday, including closing schools across the country, banning public gatherings of more than 100 people, and pledging CHF10 billion to help the economy.

Switzerland not only has one of the world’s best healthcare systems, but is a world leader in pharmaceutical research. I hope we can learn a lot from their experience, but we might be too close behind them.
