How long does raw hamburger, steak, etc. last in the freezer without vacuum sealing? I just have it in there in packages. Am planning to use it either during a quarantine or when this crap is over.

This is the scene at OHare airport. The traveler who took the photo said its a 6-hour wait for bags then on to customs for 2-4 more of waiting in shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. Police are handing out water and disinfectant wipes.

Pretty good guidance here:

If I think it’ll be in long, I wrap meat tightly with about 3 layers of Saran Wrap, then with a layer of foil, then put it in a freezer bag, again removing as much air as possible. I’ve pulled meat out 6-8 months later and it was fine.
Depends on how well sealed it is.
If you want it to last longer than a freezer bag will keep it, which is only 4 months or so, after you put it in plastic, wrap it well in aluminum foil and fold the edges together securely.
That will essentially make it hermetically sealed and reduce the moisture loss through the plastic.
Not sure how long that will last but should be a good long time.
When I had 6' twin sons at home, I just bought the chubs, froze them, and defrosted as needed. The 5 pound chubs were too big to fit in the microwave for defrosting so I'd take one out onto the back lawn and cut it in half with an ax, defrosted one half, and sealed the other with plastic wrap to put back in the freezer.
That also gave me an atavistic thrill putting meat on the table with an ax.
