Me too.

My mother had 5 kids, but she was a tyrant about sweets and snacks,

I grew up with Breyers ice cream, homemade cookies and fresh fruit.

We also had a lot of homemade cakes and pies.

The only snack we had around the house was pretzels and maybe nuts.

Pop tarts and soda were real treats that we did not get very often.

We didn’t even have the ice cream and cookies.

Fruit or nothing.

NO snacking allowed.

I got pop tarts at my grandmothers though, root beer too and cream soda. Throw me in that briar pit.

Wow—sounds like we have the same mother! (Except I’m sure none of my liberal sibs would be posting here.)

The good old days.

I was the strange kid who didn’t (still don’t) like cokes, ice cream or potato chips.

My sis liked (still likes) them, and mom and dad would buy plenty :(

I can’t remember the last time I baked a box cake....and, I bake a LOT of cakes. My (grown) kids would probably revolt, if I tried baking one, now.
