The number of deaths in the US has barely moved in two weeks. It’s not exponential and it’s not even linear. I’m calling bs.

The worst case scenario, of course, is actually everyone dies. The most likely scenario is a few hundred to a few thousand at most. The NYT is just feeding into the mass global hysteria.

China let it run rampant for three months with 4000 fatalities. Now the CHICOMS are absolutely lying about the infection rate. If you take the "optimistic" 1% mortality rate and extrapolate to the population there were conceivably 4 million infected in China.

We have public health officials in Ohio asserting there could very well be 100,000 infected in that state alone. Where are the dead and dying if that is the case? Thus far the US has suffered 39 deaths related to Chinese Coronavirus. Again, if this represents approximately 1% of all infections you are nowhere near approaching these doomsday estimates.

This will pass, and when it does it may very well be that the media may well have spread a panic that has caused for more damage than the virus did
