The panic is the problem. Everyone is lemmings, NBA shuts down, every other sport shuts down. One University shuts down, all other universities shut down, and so on, and so on.

The leagues are in a tough spot. If they continue, should even a single attendee test positive the new flu -- even if they don't get sick from it -- the league, the owners and even the players will catch holy hell.

On the other hand, though I hate that they must do this -- and accept that they must -- if this "temporary" suspension helps get the panic under control then it's worth it ... depending on what "temporary" turns out to be.
