I’m immune suppressed, and thanks to all of the idiots in my area, I can’t get N95 masks. Luckily, my local hardware store is setting some aside for me tomorrow.
For now, because COVID-19 isn’t widespread in Chicago (some-crazy-how), I’m able to get away with a surgical mask covered by a reusable surgical mask (cloth). When cases spread, I’ll be wearing masks nearly all the time and swapping to N95.
I can quarantine myself all I like, but my family still has to come and go. I have some surgical-grade cleansers and some hand sanitizer kept by the door, along with masks if someone starts coughing and sneezing.

You may find this article interesting and by the way, the information you read here was gleaned and compiled from medical sources. In other words it is not home grown. And another thing to remember is, small amounts of vitamin C are always beneficial but in order to subdue a virus as in this instance it takes much larger amounts as described.
Just ran across the following article by Dr. Andrew W. Saul what seems to confirm the effectiveness of vitamin C. Along here NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) deserves also to be mentioned a precursor to a very potent anti-oxidant glutathione, which is also used as an antidote against acetaminophen, as well as many other poisonous substances.
Comment: Dr. Andrew W. Saul, an international expert on vitamin therapy, says: The coronavirus can be dramatically slowed or stopped completely with the immediate widespread use of high doses of vitamin C. Bowel tolerance levels of C taken in divided doses throughout the day, is a clinically proven antiviral, without equal. And by the way Dr. Andrew Saul is not the only one touting the effectiveness of C as an effective virus fighter.
Fighting the flu virus, this may include the new corona virus as well. A while back when the H-1 N-1 virus was active (2009) some one from the medical profession suggested the use of a good dose of NAC or N-Acetyl Cysteine along with a healthy dose of buffered ascorbic acid (Vitamin C-about twice as much C as NAC) and it appeared to work like a charm. An effective dose of C maybe in the range of 3 to 4 grams three times a day mixed in with one time 3 grams of NAC.
What I found to work very well is by taking a small glass jar and dissolve about 12 grams of calcium ascorbate as well as 3 grams of NAC in about 8 to 9 oz of water and over a period of 24 hours take a swig every so often until this mixture is gone. Calcium ascorbate as well as NAC should dissolve very quickly. Calcium ascorbate can be bought in bulk very reasonably. Small amounts of C in the 500 mg range maybe great as supplements, but in order to be as effective as possible in an attempt to subdue some of these nasty viruses LARGER AMOUNTS AS SUGGESTED ARE REQUIRED.
How vitamin C kills viruses?
Vitamin C uses many ways to help the body overcome viruses. At a high enough concentration in the blood, vitamin C will directly inactivate viruses. During a viral infection, the bodys supplies of vitamin C are rapidly depleted as the immune systems white blood cells absorb and quickly use up all the vitamin C available. The immune system actually uses vitamin C to make an important antioxidant inside the cells called glutathione. It also increases the bodys production of its own antiviral medicine called interferon.
Vitamin C also has its own anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and antihistamine-like effects. It therefore powerfully improves symptoms like pain, swelling, weakness, rash and fever.
