I’m in Bucks County and I work there and also in Montgomery, Philadelphia, Delaware and Chester Counties, occasionally even further out.

My job involves working mostly with seniors over 80, and with senior communities, assisted living, memory care, etc. We are involved in all aspects of our clients moving into these communities. We have been informed today that at least 3 of our local communities are restricting visitors to essential personnel, nurses, health-care and occupational aides, and such. NO family visiting, and it remains to be seen if we will be able to continue with our scheduled move-in jobs.

My Mother-in-Law is currently in the hospital with a stomach virus. She may be returned to her assisted living apartment tomorrow, but we will not be able to visit once she’s there. Somewhat confusingly, the residents are allowed to leave their community; to go to appointments, shopping trips, visits etc. I’m thinking they will have just as much of a chance of picking something “out there” and bringing it back, as they have from someone coming in to see them. Especially since most outside visits are to Doctor’s Offices.

That's my self-assessment too. I'm not over 80, but I have end stage kidney disease. That puts me at risk for infections. I have to go to dialysis three times a week, and I have other doctor's appointments. I'm pretty safe at home, except my daughter interacts with the public and then comes home to me. We're sanitary, so not too worried there. I'm more concerned about being amongst the sick people out there. I can't avoid going out. I'll die otherwise.

I've been grocery shopping on the weekends like normal, but I can cut those trips as long as the local supermarket is still delivering. (Giant foods, equivalent to Acme)

Prayers up for all the seniors in these facilities. They don’t have many joys left in life, and now they are losing the comfort and joy of having their loved ones visit.

Prayers, too, for all their sons, daughters, spouses, etc. who can’t give them a hug or a kiss.

It’s just not fair.
