My grandmother lived through the depression and WWII, Korea, Viet Nam. When we ramped up the Gulf War in 1991, she bought a whole lot of TP. She still had a bunch of it in 1993 when my folks moved her from Bend, OR, back to Nampa, ID.,

When my Norwegian born grandmother died who had come to America just before the great depression as a widow with a young son, my dad, my father and his brother, my uncle discovered her hoard of canned goods and cans of coffee. Some of the coffee cans were brands that hadn’t been sold for some 30 years and some of the many dozens of canned vegetables dated back to the late 1950’s.

My descendants will have my backstock of 100 watt incandescent light bulbs until well into the 22nd. Century.
