At the time, I couldn’t figure it out and I played it back. The mils weren’t wearing “inauguration smiles”. The same scenario was reenacted in the Rose Garden that week but it’s been since scrubbed from the Internet. The MSM was strangely silent on the subject. :/
While my first impression was our mil communicated a martial version of WWG1WGA, now I also think these men made the “choice to know” and their resolve is their answer; our enemies will not be allowed to survive to feed on babies and blood.
Note that Obama/Bushes blinked first. Those cowardly former presidents weren’t used to that! :)
