Interesting, never heard of ginger flower allergies. Mango leaf/flowers and fruit allergies are not uncommon though, has same stuff as poison oak - urushiol - but it much smaller quantities.

The ginger flowers seemed harmless enough at the street side vendor’s. Back in my room, the allergic response was the most intense I’d had to anything for years—maybe ever. Don’t recall if I trashed them or gave them to the hostel staff.
