In those video clips/articles re the hearing, the spread rate and fatality rate etc. have not changed; Fauci is saying the infection has not peaked in the US because you still have people coming into the US with it.He’s not saying it’s more harmful than we’ve heard; he’s saying we’re not past the middle yet.
He can’t go before congress and say we’re past the peak of it when we still have people coming into the US with it , and frankly, I think the deep state will try to make this last as long as they can; they want this to be Trump’s Katrina.

And you know the places: you know, Washington State, California, New York, and Florida.”
I believe countering the FAKE NEWS headlines that scream, “DOOM!!!” has reassured the public and in some cases, to the point that many get the impression that the disease has peaked and no precautions need to be taken. In today’s presser, he’s saying we still have to limit the spread and that we can do that actively, on an individual basis by following the safety precautions linked on Whitehouse.gov here:

There was a time when good treatments were developed for AIDS that public vigilance dropped because there was a treatment; the need to avoid spread remained but people relaxed “too much.”
I think that in trying to refute the 24/7 lies of the MSM re corona, some are not heeding spread concerns they would if it was seasonal flu or colds etc. So getting the word out that we’re not at the peak and actively limiting spread is important is smart medicine. And the MSM will seize on that and try to blow it into Katrina-esque proportions.
