I was wondering if the Iranian regime were about to collapse, might they try to use their most powerful assets on Israel?

I would "guess" that Isreal might try to pre-empt such a last-gasp measure by Iran.

I know that we and the Israelis work to destabilize them, so if they begin teetering we no doubt have the assets and the will to give them a good push.
