Nice to hear regarding Alaska, but sorry about your family. As for mine, I didn’t even bother to try...I just let them know what I spent on this, which is well over $10k - but still most was simply pushing up purchases (computer and phone acting up...replace now, when still available). I did buy some stuff I may not use, like wipes and sanitizer, as I don’t expect to be in public much - but then you never know. And I spent a bit on ‘insurance’ for long term - mainly rice. I have throttled-down from this spree, but have no regrets at all for doing this level of prepping...since it was obvious what was on the way!
Hopefully our families make it through, but no, I won’t be surprised if that’s not the case for mine...sadly.
That’s good you stocked up so much! I think we’ve spent maybe $1200 extra on food/extra gas - but hub is somewhat of a prepper so we have some stuff already. Greatest of all is that in the summer he can go catch us salmon, so we can still eat like kings of things REALLY go s. w/ the food supply, yikes!
Best wishes for your family - hopefully soon everybody that can stay safe will, sorry for those who are already infected and don’t even know it.
I still gotta run up north and get oil filters, air filters and cabin filters for my vehicles, but I’m tired and feeling a little under the weather, so given the circumstances, I’m staying INSIDE my house, except maybe to get mail, until I feel better. FWIW, probably still allergies and lack of sleep.
