MSU has their Spring Football game scheduled for April 17. We shall see if it gets canceled or not.
A brick and mortar school risks training its students that an on-line education is just as valuable because of just a flu?...Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Heard through the grapevine that WVU told its students to pack up all their stuff before going on Spring Break...........and DON’T COME BACK!
It’s March, just give the kids their damn diplomas and let them go out drinking at bars for the next 5 months.
Might as well go to Ottawa Univ, or DeVry , or any other
diploma mill.
Michigan State is all about money.
Recall back a couple of years MSU awards an undergraduate degree without any Algebra what so ever.
That’s Sad.
Once this blows over there should be a push to make these online classes the permanent way to teach these courses. The university is proving it can be done and will have no argument against such a change. Online teaching eventually will boil down to only the best professors teaching and those who aren’t as good looking for other lines of work. Massive staff reductions and the need for brick and mortar classrooms will diminish and eventually lower the cost of getting a degree. This is the future of education and has been on the horizon for quite some time. Now it is here. Some schools will embrace the new way and set themselves up to stay in business while others will pretend that the “old” actual classroom model still exist and they will gradually disappear.
