The other starry thing going on is the brightness and dimming of Betelgeuse, the upper left shoulder of Orion. There was recent speculation regarding its dimming that it was about to go super-nova. It’s now brightening again.
Maybe it just did go supernova. We'll know in another 500 million years or so.
I just couldn’t conceive of great big globs of flotsam floating about between here and there, could you?
