There is no such thing as a Lab tech that I know who is going to work all day for free.
They might get reimbursed. But the local lab is not a social service center.
Someone will pay.

Reagents cost. Equipment costs. Electricity and facilities cost. Lab techs cost.

The company and/or the government will pay, not the techs.
