One little personal story for today.
I am trying to think ahead of what I will need down the road, and then I realized that my lawn mower needed its seasonal maintenance.
Normally I wouldn’t have it done until the first week of May—the grass here in northern CT does not start growing much before then.
But—I saw all those pictures of the empty Seattle ports and realized that there could be shortages of minor parts, so I decided to visit my lawn mower repair guy today.
He gave me a funny look (like why you be here in March) and then thought for a minute and said: “OK, but it be a couple of weeks.”
The thing is, this guy normally does next day service—and I didn’t see any other lawnmowers in his shop waiting for repair—so I think that meant he wasn’t all that confident about getting the parts...
We will see—would _really_ like to avoid living in a jungle this summer. ;-)
Spring break....
We did the mower parts thing the beginning of Feb.
Hubby and I basically started a list and brainstormed what we might need this summer/fall, partswise, of stuff we REALLY needed to be using. Mower, weed eater, cars, etc
Hopefully the supply chains will be up and functioning soon, but there will definitely be a ‘burp’ in the system.
The sink in the possible self isolation bathroom (knock on wood) clogged a couple days ago and we were out of drain cleaner. Poured juice from a too old to finish jar of pickled peppers (say that 3 times), salt and baking soda down it and it seemed to work. Good news, found Draino while organizing cabinets today. It’s these little things that are going to trip us up.
