I had more to that post and posted too quick.
Serious question here.
What does a virus like this do to a popultation that is obese and as unhealthy as ours?
I'd venture a guess that the average 70 year old Italian, eating an Italian diet, living the Italian way in an Italian village surrounded by friends and family they've known forever is healthier than a lot of 30-40 year old Americans.
I never see this addressed but I feel it is an important point.

Very important point.
I think it will take a toll of higher numbers in America because of this. A lot of Italy 40s people are being hit hard. Not sure of the details of the 40s people.

I've posted some links explaining that obesity goes hand and hand with metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. We should also recognize that there is a phenomena of thin outside and fat inside (TOFI). This an epidemic in the US because of the recommended standard American diet (SAD). A medcram video explains why insulin plays are role in ACE2 vulnerabilities with the corona virus:
Coronavirus Epidemic Update 32: Important Data from South Korea, Can Zinc Help Prevent COVID-19?.
The Medcram video is 20 minutes long and possibly difficult for some, however it is worth trying to internalize. Zinc deficiency is a common feature of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
The saddest part of Type 2 is the reversibility of it with a ketogenic diet and immediate supplementation with Zinc.
Virta Health has been having success with this lifestyle modification.
This pandemic is not going away anytime soon and will be with us for many months into the future.
Best to all.

The mountain villages are, or at least were, isolated, even from one another. (My relatives told folk stories about this, always with a thought-provoking ending.) But I think it means only the ones with strong immunity survived. No real doctors like we have here of course, and the mountain villages are hard to get to.
