I didn’t understand things like campus closings.

My daughter may be late home tonight because a couple of her friends have been sent home from college. They go get their fly home stuff and run last minute errands and take their taxi and go through the airport and get breakfast and uber home and hang with family and neighbors and go to the store and they’ll go out with my daughter to the mall and to dinner and exactly why is this safer for anyone than being at school?

I do understand the usefulness of actual quarantine. But this is not quarantine. I dare say they are interacting with way more people this way, probably.

So expensive. So stupid. Imo

Some of us have wondered if there are plans to use the dorms for sick wards.

It’s not for the students. Lots of them will get sick and spread it among themselves, and for many it will be so mild they would just go to class. It’s for the faculty. Can’t have the indoctrinators getting sick, or worse. They also have “free clinics” on most campuses these days, and all of the medical care folks would get sick too...

It’s so the university can’t be sued for negligence.

College students are being sent home so they don't develop CoVod-19 at college where they'll be a risk to other students and school staff. Concerns about legal liability are also involved.
