I follow Jennifer Zeng on twitter and some of her commenters think the reason Xi (or his body double) appeared in Hubei today was to show the peasants it was safe to go back to work now. That it had to be said and they had to be shown indicates an underlying unwillingness to do so on the part of the peasants.

I say that I have bias against China also! And that I trust other people who have biases against China more than I trust some of the US media!
