“Dak Prescott will never be the reason a team wins a Super Bowl. Hes a lower top 10 quarterback at best.”
But Dak possesses the one trait that you need to win a Superbowl, IMO — durability. Dak can win 12/16 regular season games with this team. Most other teams are lucky to get 12 games out of their starter and then must hope for a split (best case) with the backup.
I’d also rank Dak a bit higher, but we could argue about that.
I hear he likes L.A...........................
Those taxes in Calif are a killer for high income brackets
That’s not how they pay QBs anymore.
I remember hearing him say that on The Ticket, but wasn't that at least 10 years ago? And IIRC, this year will be the 25th anniversary of the Cowboys last trip to the Super Bowl.
I'm an avid sports fan, but I'm about ready to ditch DFW sports talk radio. Seems like 75% of the air time is Cowboys talk.
After Dak, they talk about who's going to be drafted by the Cowboys. It's not about winning Super Bowls anymore with the Cowboys, it's about marketable stars establishing their brand.
If we can see that, why can't NFL team executives?
He makes more on one Sunday afternoon than I’ve made my entire life
I wonder how the coronavirus will affect attendance if it actually spins up into a full-fledged epidemic without a vaccine throughout the season.
FWIW, they're doing what gets ratings. I cover a college, and their basketball team is going to be a high seed in the NCAA Tournament, but an article on who's going to be the back up right offensive tackle next fall gets more traction.
On Jones, he caught lightning in a bottle with Johnson, and thought he could keep doing it. I figured him out, and quit following the Cowboys after the Parcells/Stadium thing. Jones figured out he couldn't get financing for a new stadium with the team constantly going 7-9 with puppet coaches. So, he hired Parcells and backed off and let him coach. Parcells gets Cowboys to the playoffs. The day after Jones closed the stadium deal, he signed Terrell Owens over Parcells' objections. The puppet master was back.
Jerry's got his stadium and he's going to spend the rest of his life playing coach and GM. He desperately wants to prove he's a football guy. He consistently proves he isn't.
Here's a bit of info that I've been feeding the local media here in North Texas: Gonzaga (my alma mater) has 3 players from North Texas in their 7 man rotation. Ryan Woolridge and Admon Gilder, both from Mansfield, both graduate transfers: Woolridge UNT and Gilder from A&M. Drew Timme is a freshman who played at JJ Pearce HS in Richardson.
We had the opportunity to meet all 3 young men after the Zags beat Texas A&M in College Station in November. By all accounts, they've enjoyed their Gonzaga experience.
O/T, my 9 YO grandson finally met his favorite Zag, Killian Tillie. He also reconnected with Corey Kispert. Corey is one of my favorites, as he took time out of his evening workout to give personalized instruction to my grandson, punctuated by a dunk on the floor of the Kennel. I had my son in a hoops camp at GU two years ago, where his favorite memory is playing a game of 21 against Josh Perkins.
Corey remembered my grandson without any prompting, though it had been over two years since they met.
I agree, it's all about ratings. The Fan apparently has surpassed The Ticket, largely due to their all Cowboys/all of the time. I tip my hat to the marketing mavens of the NFL, who have been able to dominate media for at least 9 months out of every year.
I moved from he Pacific NW 12 years ago. Gonzaga has the best and classiest basket program in the country.
Next year, they have the #6 recruit coming in, one in the top 40, and another in the top 60; and likely 1-3 from Europe.
It’s hard to count how many graduate transfers that hardly anyone knew about that wind up being drafted, and play in the NBA.
A player that is fortunate enough to be recruited by Gonzaga is going to have an opportunity to play professional basketball. The last 4-5 guys on the team are just there for practice.
Timme is going to be a lottery pick if he remains healthy the rest of the year.
Corey Kispert reminds me of Klay Thompson.
