That your up close vision is still single is good. That means the angle of distortion is small. Think of it as the bigger the angle between your 2 eyes focusing on the same point and diverging, with a longer focal point the distance between where your eyes focus is bigger.
I’ve had strabismus issues for decades ;(

Manage the blood sugar. Watch the sugars and starches.
Good luck with it. I went through some high blood sugar and is a fight to get it down and keep it down.
