the airlines claim their HEPA filters are better than hospital quality, but I guess that depends on where the filters are located in relation to one’s seat. I dunno if you saw the non-scientific video I put up about dirty airplanes, but, in order, headrest #1 dirtiest, then safety card pocket, then bathroom handle, then tray then seatbelt.

Makes sense the headrest would be dirtiest because people have a habit of using them as a walking aid as they board.

Perhaps, but I also know that in the past they were getting people sick by not letting in enough fresh air (they were doing that to save fuel). So I’m not sure if I’d take them at their word. Also, for their air flow rates, for so many people, they’d need very large filters. Possible, but not cheap.
