Continuation of the thread.
Europe was mostly clean in early Feb, assuming the Nazi’s are telling all. Anyone flying Asian, Pacific or Communist airlines in early Feb have to be worried.
Shouldn’t be. I checked mine and it’s 97.5
Couldn’t find anywhere online that it runs hotter than oral.

Health officials in Virginia on Monday confirmed the state’s third coronavirus case, in the D.C. suburb of Arlington County.
The virus has infected an individual in their 60s who recently traveled abroad, the county and the Virginia Department of Health announced. The other two cases involve a resident in Fairfax City and a U.S. Marine at Fort Belvoir. Both locations are suburbs of Washington, D.C., as well.
D.C. confirmed its first presumptive case Saturday.
The Arlington County individual experienced a fever, cough and shortness of breath after international travel. The patient is receiving medical care and currently recovering, officials said.

Testing in the US has ramped up big time _today_.
We were discussing that we expected that to happen (last night).

“It could be highly contagious, but we dont know that. “
I think it’s moderately contagious myself. Get in a cab with a vector for 20 minutes, you get it. Shake hands with the same guy, probably not. Talk for a minute with the guy, probably not. Receive a hard drive made it China, definitely not. If it was highly contagious, it would have already hit everyone. Problem is, of course, who and where are the vectors.
As to the ship - I don’t know enough about their HVAC systems to know if they’re zoned. Perhaps it was just one zone that reached the 17%...just don’t know. Hopefully they’ve thought of studying that.
As to the death rate from the ship - 1%, of course, is still very high if it gets widespread (but not a big problem if contained) - but those people were lucky, they got the ICU beds. Obviously people later on won’t be so lucky.
I’m mostly worried about the millions of people who have flown in to the US with virtually no limits or screening (other than China, and that was only partial). Things may get very interesting when big-time testing starts here. Who knows, stocks may even drop a bit!
I am also concerned that those big money folks may have traveled a lot recently and/or been in close contact with people who have done so.

The total number of coronavirus patients in the Netherlands has risen to 321, with 56 new cases in the last 24 hours, the public health agency RIVM announced on Monday. Good on Princeton.

Malia’s Harvard has banned all international travel and non essential university domestic travel. It has cancelled the new student meet and greet, a women’s computer science event and discourages events with over 100 attendees. Encourages work from home and teleconferencing.

It’s from the manual for the infrared reading device I use. You can set it on body or surface mode. In surface mode it is just like a Harbor Freight sensor. In body mode you are supposed to read your forehead temp. It compensates that surface reading to give you a body temp.
Let me do a test.
Body setting forehead temp - 97.9 F
Surface setting forehead temp - 91.9 F
Wow. Major compensation.
Any viral RNA or DNA is encapsulated in a protein coat, except when within a host cell directing the replication of new virus copies.
Detergent mixed with acid shows some efficacy to break down the protein coat.
Article on DC—we have discussed the basics here:
Skype for business takes care of one on one or 100s of attendees. I work from home for a large IT company and employees are all over the world. Skype is what we use for all of our meetings, from one on one meetings with a manager or training a new employee to small team meetings of 4-20 people or project meetings of 80 to all account meetings with over 1k. You can use a whiteboard or share anything on your PC.
All in for that! But I still can't comprehend a run on grocery stores for cream cheese.

All sporting events banned from competitions in Italy until early April—not just no fans, no actual events.
That is draco, bro!
It might be an unrelated shortage.
Perhaps the main producer for that area has had an...issue...(line shutdown for some reason)
Actually, this makes me feel better. My daughter is a nurse in the PICU at the same hospital I work for. She is also a transport nurse, who goes to other hospitals to pick kids up that are being transferred to our hospital. So she'll be on the front lines for any kids who get it.
