So after checking, I see what you're saying. But, first, you're comparing apples to oranges in number of cases vs death. Do the math on total recovered in Italy so far (523) vs deaths (197) for a more accurate picture, as time plays an important part here.
Number of cases are rising quite rapidly in Italy while both the numbers of recovered patients, and those who've passed, lag behind due to the time is takes for either outcome to be known.
Also, the numbers above do not reflect the increased fatality rate for the elderly. The chart I posted above breaks the numbers down by age group.
