Attended a Catholic Mass recently and noticed during communion the priest would have the recipient take a sip from the chalice, give it a wipe and go the next one.
Backwash negates that wipe.
Our church uses a chalice for dipping your little piece of bread....that MANY other's have also dipped, before you. And, the bread piece comes from a larger piece that has been handled by at least three people (including the Pastor).
GOK how many hands, etc., they've touched, before touching the bread.
We have passed on greetings and communion, lately.
I keep suggesting they get the disposable communion....looks like creamer cups you get at restaurant, and has grape juice and wafer under the peel off top.
I dont know why they havent gone to the disposable little plastic cups that many Protestant churches use.
