I have been trying to figure out how many tests are actually being done.
From a lengthy zero-hedge article with a virile case of TDS on display:
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/white-house-pledge-deliver-1-million-coronavirus-tests-friday-might-be-997500000-short
Private labs:
The Association of Public Health Laboratories, which represents state and local government laboratories around the country, has said that its labs would be able to conduct about 10,000 tests a day when all of its 100 members that can perform testing are running. Scott Becker, the executive director of the lab association, said Monday that labs can run about 100 tests per day. As of Monday, he said fewer than half of those labs were able to do so.
That shows a capacity of less than 5,000 tests a day.
337 additional C.D.C. test kits were made available for distribution on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to two people on the call and the person briefed on the discussion who were not authorized to discuss it publicly. Each of those tests would cover about 350 people, officials said.
So, the first of these kits was available no earlier than today.
My read--only a handful of tests were done today.
Expect a major ramp up each day this week to a maximum of several thousand tests per day.
Expect the reported case numbers to start exploding by Thursday imho.

I hope this is super obvious, but anyone who has not done their prep needs to do it tomorrow if possible.
When the reported cases explode there will be panic among many of those who did not see it coming...

"Expect the reported case numbers to start exploding by Thursday imho."Dude.
Dude.
'Reported case numbers' are never going to happen. Well, in history someday, but not now.
'Reported case numbers' broke, broke China's hospital system.
Ours is perhaps 10x better? Which might 'equal' the amount China was never able to treat.
With 'containment' - not actual containment but number containment, our system may actually manage this, while COVID-19 works its way through 96% of the populace with either nothing at all or a short week of fever and a cough.
The key, the key will be avoiding Kirkland hot spots and the subsequent super-spreaders, but after the dumbassery display by first responders there in the Blue State From Hell, one wonders.

In Washington state they have a state lab that can do 100 people a day - but each person gets two tests. I think that the University is about to start the same thing. And the state lab is getting in more equipment to increase capability.
