Did they get paid if they called in sick?
They got 10 personal days every year.
This was in addition to vacation time. (The ten days represented holidays we worked and “sick time” which could be used for you or your child.)
If they had blown through all of those days, they could use vacation days (with a note and permission.)
No one is THAT sick. (Not with a cold.)
