A tea towel is NOT what tea bags are made of. It was a cloth that was used to wipe up little spills. Many were embroidered so were pretty when used for ladies’ tea time. Basically, they are a medium-heavy weight cotton material. A cotton fabric that’s heavier than an expensive cotton man’s shirt but nowhere as heavy as jeans.

I wouldn’t use tea towels found at Hobby Lobby because the weave is too loose so the holes are quiet large.

The mask patterns don’t look like they’d stop anything since the edges don’t appear to fit the face. You’d need some duct tape.

Are tea towels something like dish towels that you use to dry dishes?
