140 Diamond Princess cruise ship evacuees released after two-week quarantine
About 140 evacuees from the Diamond Princess cruise ship headed home Monday after being released from a 14-day quarantine at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif.
Those released showed no signs of coronavirus, a CDC spokesman confirmed to The Washington Post on Monday.
...Mondays departures mark the last major wave of evacuees from the cruise ship to be released. There were 180 evacuees released Feb. 18, and 53 followed two days later, Christian Conrad, a spokesman for Travis Air Force Base, told The Post. Fewer than 10 people remain in quarantine at the base, though their conditions were unclear.
U.S. to postpone gathering of leaders of Southeast Asian nations, official says
The United States has decided to postpone a gathering of leaders of Southeast Asian nations planned for later this month, because of fears about the spread of the coronavirus, a senior administration official said Monday.
President Trump had planned to host leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on March 14 in Las Vegas.
