The Rhode Island Department of Health has announced the first presumptive positive case of coronavirus disease in Rhode Island.
The DOH said the person is in their 40s and traveled to Italy in mid-February.
The person is being treated at an area hospital, according to the DOH.
Gov. Gina Raimondo and the Director of Health, Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, will hold a news conference at 11:45 a.m. to answer any questions.

Thanks for posting this reality and kudos to the people who said: presumptive cases of the coronavirus.
Expect many, many “presumptive cases of the coronavirus being reported and almost all from Liberal run States.
Any serious case of flu like symptoms will be considered and reported as presumptive coronavirus until the Left decides to reveal the results of the testing. They will do so immediately if there are positive results and wait days or not report the results at all if they prove negative.
The panic WILL help slow the spread of this and other infectious diseases, I’m sure. I guess there’s a silver lining after all.
But I’m sorry too see the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave turn into a bunch of hypochondriac wusses.
I think I have posted this to you before: Presumptive means they tested positive at the local health department. It just has to be verified by the CDC.
When filling the gas tank, if the pump autoshuts, don’t try to force more gas into the tank.
Fuel packing can adversely affect your car’s performance.
Also if your so called epa venting system in your gas cap is a little plugged and you park your car in warm weather, your vehicle might end up with a vapor lock.
Which might keep your car from restarting until you take off your gas cap and let it sit and breath for a couple of minutes. Then, replace the gas cap and try to start.

The problem is 99.999999999999999% of the articles posted on Free Republic citing a case of the China flu, never say Presumptive.
Which until CDC gets its act together re standardized and working tests, all of these reports are presumptive.

Coronavirus in Italy likely originated from 2 Chinese tourists, though it may have been spreading undetected for weeks prior to the first diagnosed case.

I’ve spent most of the winter at our house in Idaho doing remodel projects. I’m booked on a flight tomorrow afternoon to go back home to California. We are in the Mountain View area where a patient was admitted to El Camino Hospital.
I’m wondering if I should have my wife come up here to ID and work remotely rather than going to CA. She isn’t prone to panic or fears, but sometimes I don’t think she takes things seriously enough.
All the Idaho snowbirds who winter in CA will be coming here in about two months time.
If I’m not driving too much right away, I won’t pack it quite as tight.
