“The bell has been on campus 60 years and no one knew. The story is likely bogus.”

There was a weird urban legend going around a few years ago that the word “picnic” had something to do with people going to the countryside to watch a lynching while enjoying their basket of food and beverage.

I had a fairly intelligent black lady (I thought she was intelligent) tell me that very story one day and later when I came back with the true origins and entomology of the word “picnic” she scoffed. I haven’t talked to that stupid-ass since.

Some libs are so wedded to their personal word view and their sense of personally perceived as suffering victimology that even the truth can not be accepted by them.
