On the 25th, 6 assailants boarded a crude oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela and shot/killed the captain. Other crew members are missing. This might be ordinary thievery (pirates) but it’s considered unusual for them to murder in this manner and the article made me wonder if the DS needs some extra hardware.
The owner has yet to be identified, the Mexican flagged ship named The San Ramon hadn’t transmitted its position since Dec. 10, 2019 when it was in a Mexican port waiting to load fuel. SO it wasn’t transmitting its position for about 2 months and then we learn the captain was murdered. Very strange. There are embargo on fuel to enemy nations - wonder if someone “borrowed it” to move fuel.
