what we know from the article:
UCD Sac, has a COV patient dating from Feb 2 - this patient would be in lockdown isolation (although they might have got the date wrong, s/b Feb 5th)
the patient was not tested at North Bay originating hospital. (date of admission at NB?)
the patient was transferred as unknown RDS
the patient was transferred intubated (so they would be knocked out, wired up, and placed in ICU with protocols?)
other things:
The CDC has been monitoring California for one month today (and is currently monitoring some 8K independent returnees).
an unknown length of time transpired between admission at NB and UCD, plus 4 more days.
Question: What was the CDC involvement during the time the patient was in NB? Was the CDC contacted by NB? Why did it take 4 days for the CDC to ‘order’ testing? What are the CDC protocols for monitoring potential cases in California? Who is in charge of that?
Possible but there are local rumors that the patient has no connection to the base. That said there are 14,000 people that are on the base on a regular basis.
the real problem isnt the UC Davis staff. its the staff in the hospital she transferred from
You may believe there is nothing to worry about, but you are doing a crummy job of convincing others.
Calling people fear mongers and insulting the United States, doesn’t make you look calm and rational, it makes you look like you’re worried out of your mind.
Take a breathe, dude. Nobody’s blaming you!
This patient came from Northbay Vacaville hospital .
She was ill there too .
Quarantine them too .
That Dem plant / Idiot at the CDC should be fired now .
We need to use the Singapore methodology .
Test all for anti body exposure and round them up don’t wait in the test results .
TB was a huge outbreak in the 1940 and 50s .
We had TB camps and hospitals .
Bring it back !
Bob Redfield is not a dingbat.
With a scarce resource (like testing), they can't be testing every case of viral pneumonia without exposure history.
The Daily Mail is one of the most read publications on the internet. Yes there is junk and sensationalist headlines but you can quickly and easily weed through the BS. I have discovered stories about happenings here in the States that I wouldn’t hear about anywhere else. And btw, the world is talking about this stupid virus why should it be banned here? Makes me wonder what is provoking people to argue against it.
Lol. Go figure!
Out of 51.47 million people. Perspective people!!!!
I second that Amen!
But, its just the flu.
Hey Jo. The world is on fire. Film at 11.
Actually...Trump lied to your face to prevent a panic. Then...the next day they release the truth. That should be the headline.
So much for HIPAA.
I doubt air conditioning is much used in Wuhan in January. Average high/low January temperatures in Wuhan 47°/33°.
“Employees at the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the mood in their office is somber.
The employees of one of the largest federal agencies in Atlanta said theyre concerned about job safety, funding and new public health policies under Donald Trumps presidency.
At the General Muir deli across the street from the CDC, a few employees talked to WABE, asking that their names not be used. One microbiologist said her colleagues were crying in the hallways.
Its really sad, she said. Its depressing. Im eating a bagel to try and be happy.”
That poster’s point was that the virus (like most coronaviruses) doesn’t like heat/humidity.
It loves cool temps and air conditioning.
SARS was the same.
Allot of people in the general public are not very healthy looking to begin with. So immune systems could be weak in a majority of people. For those who are fairly healthy taking vitamin D, maybe Oregano oil and a daily garlic couldn’t hurt along with other daily vitamins.
