Do you have an explanation for why virtually every country where there has been widespread out breaks (China, South Korea, Italy, Japan etc) have all instituted draconian measures to stop its spread? This includeds mass quarantines, stopping all public events, closing all schools and blockading entire towns? What's you're explanation for doing this if it's just a bunch of bs?

It's not a pandemic yet, but most people understand exactly what the potential of this virus is. "Hype and fear mongering", AKA quarantines, travel restrictions, aggressive contact tracking, social distancing and increased protective measures, are the only thing standing between 'outbreak' and 'pandemic'. When a virus has an R₀ of 2+, the only thing stopping global spread is taking active measures to prevent that spread.

If you think countries with large numbers of infections are closing factories, schools, transportation and public gatherings with no threat, you are mistaken.
