UC Davis was treating some of the cruise ship cases.

I think this new patient was most likely suffering from complications of the Flu and then contracted COVID-19 at the UC Davis Hospital.

technically, his testing was delayed because people who fit the profile still needed to be testing, and testing is limited to a fix number a day.

They got to his tests eventually.

Meanwhile, he had been isolated already.

Like maybe that little hospital didn’t have a working CDC test kit:

Woodpile report re CDC:

Only three of the more than 100 public health labs across the country have verified the CDC test for use . It means no one has been tested for this coronavirus in forty-seven states. The kits CDC distributed are flawed. and none have yet been replaced.

What are the real numbers of coronavirus cases in the US?

As we say around here, “you can’t find what you’re not looking for”.

Only three US states can test for coronavirus, says public lab group
PUBLISHED FRI, FEB 21 20201:04 PM EST:

California, Nebraska and Illinois are the only U.S. states that can currently test for coronavirus, the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) told Reuters on Friday.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week said some of the testing kits sent to U.S. states and at least 30 countries produced “inconclusive” results due to a flawed component.

The CDC planned to send replacement materials to make the kits work.
